Roberto Mancini 'emerges as a SHOCK contender' to become Manchester United's permanent manager next summer despite his past success at fierce rivals City - with Premier League return 'appealing' to the Italy boss

Roberto Mancini is a shock candidate to become  Manchester United 's permanent manager next summer, according to reports Mancini, who memorably led fierce rivals  Manchester City  to the  Premier League  title at the expense of United in the 2011-12 season, is said to be one of several bosses under consideration for the role. Despite currently being in charge of the Italian national team, Mancini has admirers at Old Trafford and a surprise move has not yet been ruled out,  The Telegraph  claim. His position at the helm of the Euro 2020 champions will influence whether he is able to take over at United, though, with Italy consigned to the World Cup play-offs next March as they look to secure a spot in Qatar.

Manchester United 'have Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim on their radar as a future manager' - with club admiring the impressive young coach as they continue hunt for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent successor

ManUtd have identified Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim as a long-term successor for  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer .  Solskjaer was given his marching orders after Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to  Watford  at Vicarage Road last weekend. Ralf Rangnick has signed a six-month deal to take over as the interim manager, but the club are still on the hunt to find a permanent solution.   However, United could to Sporting Lisbon's young manager, Amorim, if they are unsuccessful in their attempt to appoint Pochettino, according to  The Sun .

  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under huge pressure at Man Utd but there is no obvious candidate to replace him at Old Trafford. The November international break has always been a time when Premier League clubs consider a change in the dugout and within 24 hours of Manchester United latest Old Trafford humiliation, two more bosses had been sacked.
