Manchester United resume first-team training following Covid outbreak in the squad - as Ralf Rangnick's men aim to be back to host Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday

Manchester United are expected to return to their Carrington training base today and resume training operations, following a  Covid-19  outbreak across the squad. On Monday United were forced to shut down their training ground for a 24-hour period in order to combat and minimise the spread of the virus. As a result Thursday night's  Premier League  fixture away to newly promoted  Brentford  was postponed, though there remains hope United can return in time for the weekend. On Saturday the Red Devils are due to face Graham Potter's Brighton at Old Trafford, in the 12.30pm kick-off slot.

 Manchester United adopted a more intense pressing system against Chelsea today and if not for a rash Aaron Wan Bissaka decision, we'd have got 3 points and a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge.  It was a chaotic game, very intense, as Chelsea dominated so much but there were characteristics there of what United fans can expect to see under Ralf Rangnick  What's your reaction to the 1-1 draw with Chelsea?

Manchester United 'have Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim on their radar as a future manager' - with club admiring the impressive young coach as they continue hunt for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent successor

ManUtd have identified Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim as a long-term successor for  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer .  Solskjaer was given his marching orders after Manchester United suffered an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to  Watford  at Vicarage Road last weekend. Ralf Rangnick has signed a six-month deal to take over as the interim manager, but the club are still on the hunt to find a permanent solution.   However, United could to Sporting Lisbon's young manager, Amorim, if they are unsuccessful in their attempt to appoint Pochettino, according to  The Sun .
